According to the critical period hypothesis of language acquisition, the ability to learn a language is biologically linked to an individual’s age group. In other words, certain stages of human development are most conducive for learning a language relatively easily and efficiently. Early childhood is therefore considered to the period for optimum language acquisition, especially for a second or third language as it would allow developing a fluency by the time adulthood comes. It is commonly observed that older learners of a second language or third language rarely achieve the native-like fluency that younger learners display,
