We develop our moral principles as children by sticking to the deontological principles of Kant that our parents promote. We should make sure that the categorical imperatives are not transgressed and in anything that we do not only end but the ways and the means are justified. Thus we should not fall prey to our natural inclinations and desires. We should not do something that wages a war in my conscience. Thus we should not lie for example no matter what the justification be;
