Community-oriented policing is a branch of philosophy that combines traditional aspects of law enforcement with prevention measures, problem-solving, community engagement, and community partnerships. Community oriented policing unites law enforcement with the community creating partnerships. As partners we can work toward a common goal which is the reduction of crime, and making the community a safer place to work, live and pursue an education. The main focus of Community policing is problem-solving. They are more effectively handled by other agencies.
