According to Jesus and the Disinherited by Thurman, who am I to the 'other'?
According to Jesus and the Disinherited by Thurman, everyone is the neighbor to the other and this would mean that Jesus’ strongest teaching is that love thy neighbor without any discrimination. This work of Thurman is very significant and the title is so compelling that in a discriminatory American society, the black people are disinherited in the land. This would mean that the white people have ceased to see a neighbor in the people of color, especially the African Americans. Thus, he suggests that people need to treat others as their neighbors in order not to discriminate them.
