The therapists need to be careful about challenging client’s beliefs, till the point that they develop a deep understanding of the client’s cultural context. For building a relationship of trust in a client it is absolutely necessary to approach a client for counseling according to his or cultural norms. A client may not accept the therapy if it is not according to his culture. The issues that are important may include; religious practices, issue of privacy and confidentiality and communication.
