After terrorist attacks such as Sept. 11, we as a nation should combine to give preference to the security of the country over freedom of the individuals. There is a need for acts such as the Patriot act launched by President George Bush. It is only when our country will be able to protect itself it will be in a position to protect the rights of its citizens (Guichard, 2006). Thus based on the current scenario where there is an increased threat to the security of the nation, importance should be given to security temporarily to curb all global terrorism and finally, when it has been established we can give precedence to freedom
