Answer #1

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a cognitive behavioral treatment designed by Marsha Linehan. It was initially designed to be only used for individuals with borderline personality disorder. Later it was found to be also effective with patients of depressiond anorexia bulimia to name a few.

It was developed to help individuals deal with intense negative emotions as well as emotional regulation and being present in the present moment. All these teachings are also central to mindfulness teachings. Therefore dialectical behavior therapy prioritizes teachings to mindfulness techniques as it is geared towards working with intense negative emotions instead of running away from it and staying in the present.
