“We need to keep things that will nurture us inside our fences and keep things that will harm us outside.” Reflect on that for a moment. Describe those things in your life that are nurturing and also those things that are harmful to you. What does it mean to have fences and not walls? Contemplate the work God has done or has been doing in your life as you complete our devotional assignment this week.

Answer #1

It is a true fact that we should always hold on to things that nurture us and stay away from things that harm us.The belief is that we think good for all and good things happen to us and vice versa. When we say fences it means flexiblity as to allow good thoughts to penetrate our mind and release all negative thoughts.Things that are nurturing are good deeds for the day, love everyone who comes my way, reach out to people and help ,and harmful would be to have too much of negativity and resentment.God has been a major influencing factor. He is a devotional guidance in me to be his messenger to serve the people. It is through love and purity we can reach out to god.

Instructions St. Augustine in the 5th Century held that we are free to make choices in life. This is the idea of free will. It may seem at first glance odd for a religious thinker to say that we have free will. After all, if God exists, then God created all things. God knows already what we will do. God can cause anything to occur. If we cause things to occur, that seems to be a limitation on the power...
