The legal perspective to the war on drugs has led to the incarceration in huge numbers of people thought it had no noticeable effect on drug importation and drug use. Thus efforts are required to find the causes behind it. This war on drugs was launched by President Nixon as he dramatically increased the size and presence of federal drug control agencies, and pushed through mandatory sentencing and no-knock warrants measures. President Bush's claim that drugs are linked to terrorism highlight the importance of the legal perspective to The War on Drugs and calls for no compromise on this issue.
