Answer #1

Revolutionary 17 November was a Marxist-Leninist terrorist organisation in Greece that organised many acts of assassination and bombing against the NATO allies U.S.A, U.K, and Turkey and Greece from 1975 till 2002. The organisation was violently opposed to capitalism and imperialism. Although it has now been disbanded and most of the top leaders arrested, the organisation can still be important especially for an academic understanding of the social processes at work in the formation of such terrorist groups. The leadership and processes of compliance to group norms which may have even at play could cast some light on the nature of the group and it’s impact on the members to the extent of yielding high obedience from them towards aggression and violence. An analysis into the workings of such groups is thus if immense value to the work of social psychologists.
