Think about the great ethical theories in a different way—how productively can they be applied to our daily lives? When faced with the need to make a moral decision, should we take into account the fulfillment of our own character, or the performance of dutiful action, or the most likely consequences?
I like Utilitarianism by John Mill, the main principle behind this theory is to maximize benefits over harms. To look for maximum advantages between two situations and opting the situation accordingly. If we take this into conseideration the productivity is automatially maximized as we are seeing the benefits over the disadvantages. This also helps in maintaining postive outlook in general. This in a way also helps in going correctly. Eg, we would no do any unethical things or we would not even lye, as these things hurt many people around. There are less benefits in this. In the same way while coming to moral decision this theory discusses about less harming of society and going for more advantageous things. We listen to so many stories in history who have given their lives in order to save the entire nation. Saving individual person over to many people does not lead to any advantage.
