What do you think of Aristotle's advice that human beings should "find the mean" between two extremes before they act? Is it realistic?
Aristotle's advice that human beings should "find the mean" between two extremes before they act is realistic as excellence is the mean state of anything. For example, too much of fear is cowardice, while being too fearless and brave and nor caring for the risks is dangerous, thus the middle path is the best in life. Being too religious and giving up all the worldly pursuits of life and leading a life of a monk is not natural. However being moderate by being religious at the same time performing all the worldly duties is realistic and sustainable.
