NSS or neurological soft signs are defined as the abnormalities (minor) which are neurological and not associated with any specific region of the brain. They are not the part of a neurological disorder or syndrome which is well defined.
NSS is generally assessed by NVS or Neurological Evaluation Scale.
According to many research studies, NSS has been found more in schizophrenia patients as compared to healthy individuals. They are also commonly found in patients with OCD, antisocial personality disorder, and BPD etc.
Neurological soft signs could be used as traits features in psychosis.
They could be used as a very effective tool in the assessment of psychological disorder like schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorder.
