I agree with Freud’s contention that biology is one’s destiny. The nature versus nature debate has been a long standing one in the discipline of Psychology. The findings of multiple studies in this context reveal more or less one pattern - that nature sets the limitations on which individual development can take place and nurture determines to what extent an individual actualises his/her development. Despite the most conducive environmental conditions, an individual cannot progress any further than the confines placed by his/her hereditary. If we were to take an example of a child born with severe intellectual disability, we would find that although she maybe able to improve her functionality in various respects, she would never to able to reach the level of a gifted child. In this sense, biology definitely determines our destiny.
