Piracy is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, violating certain laws granted to the holder, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the protected work, or to make derivative works. When someone is accused for piracy it means that person has unlawfully copied some others work. In today’s world creativity is best way to achieve your desired goals but some people try to steal your creativity by using your work without your permission and this trend is very much cultured in digital world. It is not a kind of theft of physical objects but an instance where a person exercises one of the exclusive rights of the copyright holder without authorization. Punishments are there for piracy and copyright infringement which varies from countries to countries and case to case. In the United States, wilful copyright infringement carries a maximum penalty of $150,000 per instance.

To be a good digital citizen you should first of all know the proper rules and regulations of the sites you are using and also use them in proper manner by following the guidelines.

We should also inform about anything wrong happening around on digital platform, since you see something that is harmful and detrimental to you or others you should tell about it immediately.

Don’t share things that can cause trouble to you and others.

Do not share things of other person without the permission of that person.

Do not post things that could be negative and against the laws.
