Therefore, REBT is valuable because it targets at bringing about a change. The benefits of, REBT are long and sustained as it changes the approach towards life. However, a cognitive behavioral therapist seeks to help the client by helping him discover that he/she is powerful and capable of choosing positive thoughts and behaviors. Since REBT is target oriented and it aims at changing the attitude of the client something that is more controllable than the outside world is realistic and more sustainable.
