What are the limitations or challenges of telling stories through musical theatre?

One of the biggest limitations or shortcomings of putting up a musical production in theatre is the logistics or the ever increasing costs involved in managing the singer-actors, the stage setting along with the orchestra and sound and visual effects.

It requires a large financial budget. Moreover, in term sof the quality of the actors own experiences, there can be mixed feelings of joy and disappointment for working in a group as most of the play unfolds around the protagonists who by default become the main singers and other actors and their characters may take a backstage.

Moreover, in terms of organising the rehearsals, it can be a gruelling process as the participants may be required to do separate rehearsals for the music and the acting of dialogues and it thus can be more tedious than other kinds of theatres.
