The different examples from my own life of how our language shapes our worldview are;
The differences in color language lead to differences in perception, for color. If we compare the Russian and English speakers'; the ability to discriminate the shades of blue; in Russian, there is no single word that includes all the shades of color that English speakers call "blue", in Russian. The Russians make an obligatory distinction between light blue (goluboy) and dark blue (siniy). Thus the different shades of blue are named differently in Russian. This understanding is basically based on the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis; there are certain thoughts of an individual in one language that cannot be understood by those who live in another language.
