(Answer) Visual dominance is when an animal or even humans, use the image they give out, to help them be the dominant individual within a particular group.

Animals tend to adopt this behaviour when they wish to establish their leadership of a pack when vying a mate or to simply establish the effectiveness of their presence in a pack.

Man, on the other hand, is a social animal. Humans use dominance in order to establish their standing within the society. For instance, if there were a high-society gathering, perhaps the one with the most jewels would have the attention of the subordinates and establish themselves as the dominant one.

Visual dominance proves effective whenever an individual might be presenting an argument that is logically substantial, yet needs visual charisma to support the message. For instance, imagine a politician who is speaking about complicated policy and its effectiveness. The politician might put forth a compelling argument. Yet, he would need to be truly absorbing through a certain visual dominance. The politician would have to accoutre a certain way, look a certain way and conduct themselves in a manner that is rather magnanimous and charismatic.

This is when a leader would need to have the consent of his audience. This is why visual dominance is particularly necessary for politics where the consent is received in the form of a vote. This approval could easily be garnered through visual dominance.
