Answer #1
  • Being an introvert or extrovert, decides our social tendencies. It may be determined by our biology but we also can manipulate them. However in general way, extroverted and introverted are totally opposite from each other. An introvert is shy, quiet, stay at home, interact with people rarely. But an extrovert gets energy by interacting with people, very outgoing, even outspoken. But being an introvert or an extrovert there are some pros and cons both.
  • There are so many pros and cons of being an extroverted.

Pros-

  • They are outspoken, they can put their thoughts in front of others.
  • They are very social, so they like to interact with others.
  • They are comfortable while interacting with new people or strangers.
  • They are risk takers. So enjoy the physical arousal by risk taking hobbies like skydiving, rock-climbing etc.
  • They are happier.

Cons-

  • They can be easily bored. They are dependent on others for their entertainment.
  • The numbers of their friends are large but their bonds are weak with their friends.
  • Their emotions are taken as shallow, they might perceive as attention seeker.
  • Extroverted people are more prone to depression, because they need other to be stimulate.

There are some researches which have been done on extroverted person. According to Eyesenck's theory, there are differences in cortical arousal between introverted and extroverted people. Extroverted people's cortical stimulate minimally so they need to energized by external environment.

There are others studies also which stated that the brain of extrovert is more sensitive to rewards. That is why their behavior might be perceived as attention seeking behavior. But this is the reason they are happier than introverted people.

There is another neurological study which suggested that extroverts had more blood flow in brain areas involved with interpreting sensory data, including the anterior cingulate gyrus, the temporal lobes and the posterior thalamus. Which suggest that their attention is focused on outwards.
