Think about the last time you needed to work in a small group. What was it you were supposed to do, a project, an activity, plan an event, solve a problem, etc.? Was the end result of your working together productive or unproductive? Why do you think this was so? Were you the leader of the group? If not, could you tell who the group leader was? How? Did the direction the group took in terms of completing the task align with how you thought the task should be completed? Why or why not?
I was into a small group for completion of set of activities. Working together was productive, as the help of more people than individual work was needed considering the amount of activity which needs to be finished. I was not the leader of the group, but I pitched in at times assuming the leadership role to give proper direction to the team and work. The group leader was chosen on the basis of age. The direction of the group was deviating at times from the task completion, and needed to be reminded with motivation. This was not I expected. I expected that group would have the collective responsibility and would do their share of work without any reminders or motivation. It reduces the burden on any person and makes the activity enjoyable.
