Using the table what are some environmental threats the tobacco industry is faced with

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Some environmental threats the tobacco industry is faced with include; widespread deforestation, climate change, litter, and forest fires. Use of pesticides, growth regulators, and chemical fertilizers adds to this issue. Since tobacco depletes the soil of nutrients, including nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus the soil cannot be reused frequently for growing tobacco, this leads to fresh clearing of the woodlands every year for tobacco crops leading to more and more deforestation.
