Standardized tests can be defined as any tests that have a specific format and set of questions and a specified standardized format to score and asses it.

It differs from a researcher or teacher made test in the following ways:

• Content and outcome of the test isipredetermined by a board of members contrary to a single person in a teacher made or researcher made test.
• Sophisticated procedures are used for its construction which isnt generally the case with the latter.
• Questions are generally objective types.
• Method of administration, scorimg key and score interpretation key is already determined unlike a teacher made test.
