How do gender differences effect the Criminal Justice system.
You may elect to look at the types of crimes men commit versus
women. Disparities of sentences that are imposed on men versus
women. The types of careers men and women chose in this industry.
The types of communities and "families" that are created in the
prison system for men versus women.....or you may have an angle of
your own on this topic that you would like to examine.
Yes gender difference is evident when it comes to law. Many a times it's seen that Women use tears as a weapon to manipulate the system. It's also seen that, just for the sake of revenge, women sometimes accuses men with attempt to rape or physical or verbal abuse.
Also, when it comes to crimes like say robbery, a women may be found innocent despite of her being a criminal, a guy even though innocent may find it difficult to prove himself.
Men are seen as more aggressive and so is their crime, they may kill someone while a woman in most cases won't.
It's also seen that for a same crime, the sentence for male and female could be different, a male would be kept in a prison for a longer time than women.
Women also have many reasons which helps them get fair sentence, say for example, a lady who has kids at home may be left from prison early.
