if we used a likert scale or attitude scale instead of using one question with yes or norespond as dependent variable, what kind of stastical test would you use to analyze the data.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution :

When our dependent variable is categorical variable mean can take binary data 0 or 1. Than we will use logistic regression.

If our dependent variable is on likert scale than all responses should be converted into numerical variables so than we can use multiple regression analysis.

Here for

Highly Disagree -1

Disagree -2

Not agree and not disagree -3

Agree - 4

Highly agree -5

After this covrsion for 5 point rated scale we can use multiple regression analysis.

A researcher examined burnout among entry, associate, and senior-level employees. Burnout was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, which consists of 22 items that participants evaluate in terms of their feelings on a 7-point Likert scale (Maslach & Jackson, 1981). 1) What is the independent variable in this scenario? 2) How many levels does the independent variable have? 3) What is the dependent variable in this scenario? 4) What is the scale of measurement of the dependent variable? 5) What...

Burnout was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, which consists of 22 items that participants evaluate in terms of their feelings on a 7-point Likert scale (Maslach & Jackson, 1981). Suppose that instead of using water in the bomb calorimeter, we used acetone. Imagine that the temperature change of the combustion reaction you study in the acetone-containing calorimeter measured 4.83̊C. Calculate the change in internal energy (kJ) for the acetone-containing calorimeter. Comment briefly on the magnitude of this value.
