how does the concept of the monomyth/Hero’s Journey and the other recycled themes in hero stories support or refute the theory of popular culture

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Monomyth journey has a common storyline in which a hero goes on adventure, wins a victory and returns home transformed.

The theory of popular culture drifts away from such common template and believes that each has his/her own story. Not every story will match the monomyth. Few have exceptional lives of staying indoors and finding their own obstacles. Adventures and overcoming a difficulty and returning as a new person doesn't necessarily happen across all people and cultures. The theory of popular culture refutes the concept of hero's journey.
