Short Paragraph/Essay Sociology.

Often, people are reluctant to admit to enjoying something—a song or band, a particular food, book or movie genre, or activity—because it is inconsistent with the image they want to present. Do you watch, read, listen to, eat, or do things that you would be embarrassed to have your friends, family, classmates or coworkers know about? Name one of these and write a paragraph explaining why it is inconsistent with the impression you want to create.

I often enjoy watching romantic-comedy movies and enjoy reading romance novels as well. This is a preference that I do not share with others around me. Perhaps because I feel compelled to maintain an intellectual image of myself, as an individual who watches meaningful and independent cinema and reads only great pieces of literature. My preference therefore appears highly inconsistent to the image I desire to create because it seems to be at odds with an intellectual orientation.
