What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a peace officer?

The advantages of being a peace officer i.e. a law enforcement officer (LEO) is the fact that this is a job that allows a person to make a difference in his community, by enforcing the law of the land and nabbing the criminals. Thus this job comes with a lot of recognition and respect in the society. However, the disadvantage includes the fact that this is an inherently, dangerous, job in which each day the officer when he goes to work, he is risking his life. Racing through traffic to reach the crime scenes, is very stressful.
