Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs has been around since 1943. It is one of the simplest psychological explanations for how we act and learn. His theory is the basis for why we are motivated to perform certain actions that relate to our environment. Maslow believes that how we act and learn is based on where we are in each level of the pyramid. He states that we cannot move to the next level until the prior needs are met.
