Which of the following is NOT a plausible response to the argument that cultural evolution is somehow better than biological evolution? 1) Cultural evolution can occur faster than biological evolution. 2) Biological evolution chooses what has a selective advantage to pass on; cultural evolution does not. 3) Cultural evolution allows for more ideas to be transmitted. 4) Biological evolution is more faithful in transmission than cultural evolution. 5) Cultural evolution allows for more ways of transmission than biological evolution.
Biological evolution chooses what has a selective advantage to pass on; cultural evolution does not is NOT a plausible response to the argument that cultural evolution is somehow better than biological evolution.
Cultural evolution just like the biological is also very selective in passing on the most important behaviours, beliefs and values that would strengthen the culture as it is passed on. This would mean that each culture would try to stand out from others thus, would pass on the best and advantageous things to the next generation just like the biological evolution.
