In my view, scientists are extensively studying issues that are critical to development through a variety of research methods and techniques. An interesting topic that I would like to consider in this context is the development and construction of the self and identity in this era of social media. The existing literature focuses primarily on the influence of the family, peers, educational institutions, community and the like, but there is a requirement to delve more extensively into how social media permeates this process. Furthermore, links between social media and several psychological and physiological factors have been ascertained, but it’s holistic impact during human development is yet to be fully documented.
