After reading about the pros and cons of meta-analysis processes, imagine that the hospital you work for has assigned you to research the incidence of fractured collarbones in children. Because you cannot find one definitive, significant study, you decide to review a number of small studies where the presence of a fractured collarbone is indicated but not significant.
I have been given the task to research on the occurrence of fractured collarbones in children. As there is no single study on this, I chose small multiple studies where there is reference on fractured collarbone, though small.
I have taken some studies and as a next step I have filter or shortlist few of them in terms of similar sample, research methodology used and the factors studied. Few studies which fits my needs has been identified. The samples are based on the country I work. Health, parental care, dangerous toys were some of the factors which matched my needs with the studies and statistical analysis was used.
After my meta analysis of the studies, I have some conclusive results. My research findings has to be used with caution as I could have excluded some factors and the results could be skewed.
