Crisis intervention can be defined as a short term psychological care to assist individuals in a crisis and to prevent psychological trauma.There are five basic principles involved with intervention.victims are at risk of coping and intervening should be done immediately.Resource mobilisation should be done immediately for them to return to their normal state.Next step is helping tthe client to understand and express feelings of situation what has happened,The victim has to be made self reliant as to be able to function independantly.The history of the suspect has to be taken into account to prevent further damage.There is often chaos when there is an incident of this nature.psychological intervention to asses the nature of the shooter is often done immediately .Psychological counseling and first aid can be given to victims.
