True, if meritocratic conception and compared to a race, if everybody is allowed to take part it is welcomed but what if the starting points differ from person to person, but again the point is even if allowed everyone to take part from the same starting line there is no guarantee that the participants run in the same pace, hence meritocratic conception of justice is flawed as it fails to remedy the inequality caused by the arbitratry distribution of natural talents.
