Behavioral change theories; try to explain why behavior changes. According to these theories; environmental, personal, and behavioral characteristics as the major factors in the determination of a behavior. The application of these theories has been in the areas of; health, education, criminology, energy and international development for improving the services offered in these areas. According to one such theory, by Bandura the social cognitive theory (SCT), the human behavior is explained in terms of a three-way, dynamic, reciprocal model in which there is a continuous interaction between; the personal factors, environmental influences, and behavior. Its result is one important fact that this theory focuses on the importance of self-regulation in learning. The treats include the fact that this theory does not focus on biological differences, mood etc.
