Heinz Hartman belonged to Freudian school , a Viennese psychiatrist ,who extended the concept of ego and said that there is consistent interaction between the personality traits,ego,id,and the environment and they affect each other.During a condition of conflict a strong ego understands the consequences and avoids this traumatic conditions,this is called adaptation.
