Pure sociology is a search for knowledge without primary concern for practical use.Applied sociology is a scientific method to solve problems.Pure sociology explains human behaviour. In pure sociology the primary focus of the sociolgist is to acquire knowledge through theory and research. In applied sociology the sociologist uses the knowledge that he has to practice by solving real life practical problems. In pure sociology the sociologist conducts a research on low family incomes, through this he studies the difficulties they face and changes in life style. The researcher will concentrate on producing high quality data and knowledge. In applied sociology the researcher concentrates on real life problems people face using practical approaches.Applied sociology consists of both qualitative and quantitative research. In applied sociology a researcher would use his data findings to provide quality life and changes that could improve life style .
