A teacher wants to know how well the students in her gifted class perform relative to her other classes. She administers a standardized test to all of her classes, which has a mean of 50 (SD = 10). Her gifted class of 31 students has an average score of 55. She want to know what percent of all of her classes score lower than her gifted class.

1) Null hypothesis will be

Ho = MeanA = MeanB  - which means there are no significant differences between the performance of the gifted children and the other children.

2) Alternative hypothesis - HA = Mean A =/ (not equal to ) MeanB

3) IV - the standardized test

4) DV - the performance of the students.

5) Two sample T test to check if the differences between the two groups are significant.

6) To write the results we need to compute T test and then check the p value at 0.05 level of significance (although 0.01 can also be used) We can represent it in a tabular form.
