How would you present the business agreement and informed consent to your client? What steps need to be included in this process?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Steps involved in presenting the business agreement and informed consent to our client includes;

communicating the nature, risks, and benefits of the procedure, treatment, research or an eventuality that the client has to consent to

evaluation by the therapist of whether or not the person is able to understand the information and is competent in making an informed decision regarding his/her health care and treatment or other occurrences. After determining this, the therapist should provide the necessary information and determine whether or not the information provided was understood.

Finally, the client must acknowledge that he or she has been informed and expresses their consent. Having the client sign that he or she has read, understood and agreed to the terms of the informed consent is the most common and general standard way to document that clients received, read and agreed to the terms of the informed consent prior to the beginning of treatment.
