Answer #1

High crime rate in any part of the world depends and varies with different thoughts and environment .Most of the citizens of united states of America, people are more keen on reducing the crime rates over all . In the recent times , Gun related voilence have been on the peak and must spread awarness in order to reduce the crime rates . According to the recent research , In america more than 13 children everyday are being killed and more are injured in gun related voilence .

Homicide is another major cause of death of youths aged under 19 years old in U.S.A . The main cause of homicide are also caused by using hand guns. As guns are being kept for safety meaures , But people of recent times have been misusing weapons , When two individuals have a heated converstion and as the disgagrement progresses to the next level would cause voilence which would lead to easy access of the weapons being misused and causing harm to either of them or end up hurting both the individuals .

some gun‐control advocates would like to see the government clamp on gun manufacturers, sellers, and owners to the point that no citizens can carry guns. In general, the gun‐control community wants to limit the availability of guns manufacture.

Gun control reduces crime :

  1. More handguns in circulation equals more violent crime.

  2. Owning a handgun increases a person's risk of being killed.

  3. Keeping guns out of the hands of criminals prevents violent crime.

  4. Taking guns away from criminals reduces violent crime.

Gun control does not reduce crime:

The national rifle association critized the idea of reducing the manufacture of guns and argued that their are other ideas to reduce the crime rate .

  • Guns don't kill ,only people kill. If more people carried guns to protect themselves, there would be less crimes commited.

  • Gun control laws don't reduce violent crime.

  • An alternative to gun control ,Mandatory sentences for persons who commit crimes with guns will produce greater reductions in crime and require less sacrifice on the part of gun owners than gun‐control laws.

Evaluating gun control : some researchers argue that gun control by reducing the manufacture of guns are invalid and they cannot reduce the crime rate to any extent . However citizens carry guns to defend themselves, there would be little decrease in crime because crime victims rarely use weapons anyway.

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to read the Second Amendment which states grantes perission to set the state free and people can bear arms to protect themselves .

The major question is whether or not gun‐control laws reduce crime. Handgun bans have failed to have any significant influence on murder rates because of the large number of handguns in manufactured and circulated prior to the bans. Attempts to ban the manufacture and importing handguns have failed because they stimulate the genesis of a black market for guns similar to the black market for drugs. Laws seeking to keep handguns out of the hands of criminals have failed to reduce crime because active criminals either have guns already or can steal them. Waiting periods and background checks temporarily stop some criminals from getting guns, but many steal them or get them through the black market.

Conclusion :

According to the research this issue is been a debatable topic .We lack some of the most basic information we need to have a sensible gun policy debate, partially because researchers have been prevented by law from collecting the required information .

The 2004 National Research Council report says individual gun incidents and injuries, gun ownership and detailed information on the operation of firearms markets. We don't even have reliable data on the number of homicides in each county.

For such sensitive data sets, it would be important to maintain confidentiality of data both legally and technically. But the Centers for Disease Control, the main U.S. agency that tracks and studies American injuries and death, has been effectively prevented from studying gun violence, due to a law passed by Congress in 1996. In 2011 law restricts gun violence research at the National Institutes of Health. The White House has recently proposed lifting these research restrictions.
