What is a memory that you feel has been especially important in making you who you are?
I hold one memory to heart that made me understand that people are equal in this world and given an opportunity, anyone can excel in their life irrespective of their race, caste, religion etc.
We had a poor family in our neighbourhood who liked to study, get a job and help his family. His father was a salesman in a retail shop and mother was a home maker. He had five siblings, so his father struggled hard to make both the ends meet. He was sent out of college because he was not able to pay the fee. Although he worked part time, he was not able to make such a huge sum.
My father was part of an NGO that focused more on the education of underprivileged children. When I informed this matter to my father, he introduced him to the NGO. They paid his fees and he managed his daily expenses through his part time job. He started doing well and became a senior manager in one of the biggest global brand. The best part is that he repaid all the money he got from the NGO and he has started contributing to the NGO. His family is well settled now.
So, people if given proper opportunity will excel in life. It changed my typical class stereotype and helped me treat everyone with due respect.
