As a teacher, I have the case of a child who has disruptive behavior in class. Since according to the cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) behaviors are learned and different behaviors can be learned with the learning processes, (Hecker & Wetchler, 2003).

For counseling such a child, I will explore the influences; such as the past trauma, parental interaction, teacher interaction, peers, etc and then explore the various causes of the behavior including the option that the problem is the result of a due to underdeveloped social skills. Based on all of these findings I will develop a strategy or intervention that will address the issue.
