When we look at the workplace, is it possible that a situation can be ethical, but illegal or legal but unethical? Explain your answer.

Yes, it's definitely possible to have these situations at workplace. Most of the unethicl things are covered in the pretext of legality. Business is mostly about unethical practices because law is what they think is ruling and not morals or human values.

It is illegal to make anyone work more than 8 hours but you do more than 10 hours a day because the manager demanded and you have a moral obligation to do so which is very ethical.

Example for the second scenario - You work hard and complete everything on time and brought laurel to the company. You also stayed back most of the days to complete the project. On the other hand there is another employee who just came to the office showed as if he was working and went home by evening. At the time of performance appraisal your boss recommended the other employee because you don't share any common interest with your boss. That's highly unethical but under the law the boss is a boss.
