Immanuel Wallerstein theory of world inequality state that exploitation of the traditional and backward,poor countries by the Western European and USA during colonial and post colonial period as the main reason for world's inequality. The extraction of raw materials ,minerals and food from the colonies have caused backwardness and poverty in these countries. These backwardness and poverty has led to the import of finished good and export of raw materials to these underdeveloped nations,as these nations lack industries and technology,thus,this creates inequality in the world.

Rostow's theory of modernization state technological advancement and industrial development as the reason for world's inequality. Nations that embraced modernization or technological and industrial advancement developed and progressed, while,those who do not remained backward. If the backward nations choose to technological advancement they too can modernize and develop.Thus,the way to development is opened to all . Developed nations help the underdeveloped nations by providing technological assistance for industrial and agricultural growth.
