What is a life review? How is this related to achieving integrity?

Answer #1

Erikson’s final stage of development, Integrity versus Despair, occurs during late adulthood, usually from 65 years till death. A critical element during this stage is a thorough reflection over the actions, events and outcomes of one’s life thus far, a process called life review. A sense of fulfilment from one’s review of their personal lives would result in integrity, implying accepting oneself and one’s accomplishments along with coming to terms with the reality of death.
