Aging is experienced in different cultures. In the western world; elderly are relegated to hospitals and nursing homes. Thus they commonly removed from the community. However, Greece “Old man” isn’t a bad word in Greek. Elders are highly respected in Korea. Children care for their parents in old age in China. Elders are the head of the family in India. Death is seen as an opportunity to celebrate life in the African-American community. Elders were a precious resource in Rome in the past.
