Homework Answers

Answer #1

Cultural psychology is the study of the way cultural traditions and social practices regulate, express, and transform the human psyche, resulting less in psychic unity for humankind than in ethnic divergences in mind, self, and emotion. Cross-cultural psychology is the branch of psychology that holds that human behavior is strongly influenced by cultural differences. It further adds that psychological phenomena can only be compared with each other across cultures to a limited extent. Cultures throughout the world share many similarities, but are marked by considerable differences. The goal of cross-cultural psychologists is to look at both universal behaviors and unique behaviors to identify the ways in which cultureimpacts our behavior, family life, education, social experiences, and other areas.
