How do assumptions affect problem solving? What are some positive and negative results that can occur in the tentative alternative solution loop? Why are both quantitative and non-quantitative criteria important when evaluating and choosing an alternative?

Introduction :- Problem solving is a process of solving problems, its a cognitive process which go throughout life in an individuals life whenever they face problem. Assumptions play very important role in problem solving because when anyone face problems they first make a tentative model of solving that problem and that model is first assumed only.

Positive and negative result that can occurs in tentative solution loop is :-

• Positive result is that we can get proper soultion of problem and with the tentative solution loop we may find some new theory for solution.
• Negative result may be not able to reach our solution and we need to take many more trails which , can be time taking.

​ In, problem solving qualitative and quantitative both the solutions are having its own importance as many problems need to explained in discription and it can't be measured that time we need to go through non- quatitative criteria, and in subjective description we need to go through quantitative criteria.
