Answer #1

There are number of issues which the LGBTQ+ community faces when it comes criminal justice treatment. Let us discuss them one by one

  • Discriinaiton - LGBTQ commmunity has to face discrimination in prison cells and in other ostiauiotn This is becuase of the prejudices and the discrimiantiory mindset aossciated with the general hetrosexual popuplation . An example of this is that in 2015 almost 30 percent of LGBTQ inmates were kept in solitary confinements and other restricted housing as comered to the 18 percent heterosexual inmates .
  • Sexual assault and violence - This is also a common threat they face in prisons and other facilities . They are more vulnerable than the hetrosexual populaiton
  • Denial of HIV medication and care - They are often denied access to HIV medication and other health facilities .
  • Stigmatization and mental health issues - Because of stimatix edition of the community a perception has been developed towards the community that they suffer from mental health issues which is not the case . Similarly because of social exclusion and discriminaiton the community faces a lot of stress which leads to many mental health . disorders
  • Lack of access to resourses - LGBTQ cummunity has lack of access to resources beauce of the negative attitude towards them and they are often discriminated against when it comes to resource distribution .

Corrections and courts

In the correctional facilities also the community is discriminated against and has to face violence which is three dimensional that is physical , mental and sexual . Also when it comes to law and criminal procedures they are treated on the basis of hetronormative laws which are inefficient in their case and do not go according to their gender . Similarly in courts sometimes the procedures gets biased due to the stigma which is associated with them .
