Answer #1

According to Lustig and Koester, nonverbal and verbal communication are linked as they have said that nonverbal message can "be used to accent, complement, contradict, regulate,or substitute for the verbal message" ( Lustig &Koester,2010,p.199). When words are spoken the emphasize on particular words conveys the nonverbal message, when nonverbal messages are reinforcing, repeating, repeating or seems to be clarifying a verbal message it is complementing it, nonverbal message contradict verbal message when the facial gestures, tone and body language is opposite to the spoken words, verbal messages are regulated by the way that is stress, tone, gestures that is delivered, and when the non verbal cues are chosen over verbal words they substitute for verbal message. Thus,is the link between verbal and nonverbal communication.

The difference between the two codes are that ,the verbal communication is formal, while, nonverbal communication is informal: verbal communication is conscious, while ,nonverbal communication is more unconscious: verbal communication is more clear defined, while, nonverbal communication is more subtle

Researchers used the McDonald-Kreitman test to look for different types of selection of 5,000 different loci in both silverswords and tarweed. They found that in many transcription factors, polymorphism within silverwoods (pN/pS) was less than divergence between silverswords and tarweed (dN/dS). Does this indicate selection, and if so, what type? What does it suggest happened during the silversword...
